Integrase inhibitor: ARNX is working on one...

Once the reverse transciptase enzyme has transposed HIV RNA into a DNA strand, integrase takes that strand & integrates it into the cellular DNA; then viral replication can begin. It seems to me that a down side to an integrase inhibitor is that it has a very narrow window to work within - after transcription & before integration. NRTIs & NonNRTIs stop the transcription process, PIs stop the assembly process of new virus particles.

However, Aronex Pharmaceuticals (ARNX) has one entering Phase 2/3 trials soon & their price has been rising...

Dr. Oliver: Do NonNRTIs work by binding with RT or as chain terminators?
