Yeah one cool thing is tossing out fallacy (or some of the others)... folks get their backs up... thinking you are saying they are wrong.. while you might just be saying... stick to the matter at hand.. good stuff indeed.. Like when Mq tossed out tautological the other day ... and disappears for a while.. tired of the same arguments inflected a bit differently :o) I do like this thread.. maybe we could call it the dementia prevention thread..

I keep several links on Logical Fallacies bookmarked. They are very handy, when something doesn't sound right, but I can't quite figure out why. Each individual tends to use the same Fallacy habitually, and especially when they are defending their nation, religion, politics, stock choices, wife, or anything else they are emotionally invested in.

Just as people only see the Wars of Aggression other nations wage, they also tend not to see their own Fallacies.
