RtS, I'd buy calls - equivalent to buying puts when long. Some good short term options players post here siliconinvestor.com

I have not tried SPY options yet.

KLIC (the stock) is volatile enough to act like an option on the SOX. And it doesn't expire, the bid-ask spread is much smaller than options, and it's more liquid. Buying options on KLIC, would be like buying options on a X3 leveraged ETF.

I like not having to be right this month, or even this year; being right eventually is hard enough.
