The fact Brazilians must apply for a visa and pay $140 to enter the U.S. is one of the first things Americans learn upon trying to visit Brazil. The Brazilian government’s response to the admittedly irksome requirement has been to impose the same irksome requirement on Americans, while telling them why. Perhaps now, both sides can mellow out.
