The bits I've seen of him being interviewed leaves me with the impression that he's not even fully aware of how deep he's in. That said - I think he can get better if he kicks the blow/booze. Of course he's not aware. When folks get like this in a full blown manic episode, they think they're on top of the world. The angels are talking to them and they're channeling the spirits of the Greek Gods. He's in deep enough it'd take him 4 weeks of hospitalization and some heavy duty drugs to come down from this.
