Mike,

>>Nowhere did the article say that Clik! is supposed to be incorporated into the digital camera. Clik! is meant to be an add on accessory to the digital camera<<

The Iomega site implies that the Clik! would be incorporated into cameras. They suggest serial or IRDA connection to existing cameras - which is painful for transfering data - a high resolution compressed JPEG image is ~ 1Mbyte ie ~8 million bits.Maximum data transfer rate over a serial line is ~115,000bits/sec ie it takes slightly more than 70 secs (assuming no handshaking overhead) to transfer one image over a serial connection assuming the camera is capable of maximum data rate (this is why some high end professional cameras use a SCSI connection).

The same data transfer problem arises with connecting one of these devices to a palmtop/PDA device.

>>Personally, I will buy a 60MB CF that allows me to store 300 high resolution pictures<<

Same for my palmtop - just waiting for a Sandisk 160MB type II to be released and some fat profits to pay for it :-)

>>A year ago, IOM tried to pre-announce Clik! <<

Isn't this still a pre-announcement?
