Hi Bocor -
Re: Dividend reinvestment discount

My main account(s) (Taxable & IRA) are with Schwab. For those companies that provide a dividend reinvestment discount and Schwab offers it in their program, I have 100% participation in the IRA account. In the taxable account it's on a case by case basis. I believe the limitation is one of Schwab's. From those companies that offer a dividend discount program, Schwab limits participation to aprox a list of 20 companies, all offer the 5% discount. No foreign companies are on their list.

I reviewed all the companies I own and have found at least 3 that I want the company discount offered but Schwab does not provide the service. My backup account TD Ameritrade does participate for these companies (PVX, PWE, EDE). My plan is to move these stocks to my TD Ameritrade account and sign them up for the dividend reinvestment discount DRIP program.

Therefore, it an ongoing process that I am reviewing.

I like the discount program especially in an IRA account. Who would not? Remember that these DRIP programs w/ discount are different from the brokerage sponsored DRIP programs (w/o discounts). Be sure to specify that you want the company's sponsored DRIP discount program.
