I saw A.G.'s comments in the WSJIE. It was typical Greenspanese. Obviously, nobody knows to what extent the impact of Asia will be. I guess it depends on Americans' ability and desire to buy more of less expensive imported goods. That seems to be the game plan for survival over there (Korea, Thailand, Japan): Export more goods to the U.S. It sure doesn't look ideal for U.S. companies (or the trade deficit), although for U.S. consumers it looks like we're going to have stores packed even fuller with goods, with more discounting, etc. Yippee.

But at some point people don't want more stuff, even it's given to them free. At least I don't.
