just out from send-tray
6:30am, on way to office to start busy 2 weeks going to shanghai, johannesburg, beijing, all before end march, in effort to keep up with china. Then march comes to close.
Perhaps a china-induced slowdown should be welcomed, although long ago I made promise to self to never complain about busy-ness.
Re japan, speaking as an engineer I note that the world economy just suffered a massive blow, needs fixing, shall spend, but paper and electronic blips.
Japan shall print paper, sell down its electronic blips, even as china is in trade deficit and not willing to buy but looking for excuses to ease.
Usa is not recovering and must paper-over what its leaders refuse to understand, for the empire's stake is at the stake. Usa needs qe3.
Coming leadership changes in china n usa both require fiat lubricant.
Conclusion: forget relative movements of currencies, for they can go every which way and will. Focus on the true measure, go for the sure, go for NToeAwsBe, the Natural Trade, Obvious Exchange, Apparent Wager, n Sure Bet, go for getgold stacksilver ... But skip uranium until further notice.

Below just in in-tray
Attached is the privateer's weekly gold newsletter for this past week. Not much in it on gold and silver, mostly about the impending QE3. QE2 was signed into law one year ago raising the debt limit by $1.9 T and creating all this inflation you no doubt have noticed this year. Most everything is going up as far as I can see, except business.
The captain reckons that, politicians being what they are, the QE3 they will choose to approve sometime during the next 10 weeks will raise the debt limit by another $2.5 to $3.0 T! The reason for the increase is try to make this next one go to just after the November 2012 election, thinking the people forget about it and hoping they will not get un-elected....
RE-ELECT NO ONE IN 2012
p.s. Below are some great historic quotes pulled together by bloggers and sent in by one of you, demonstrating why we should support Ron Paul in getting rid of our Fed.
"The issue which has swept down the centuries and which will have to be fought sooner or later is the people versus the banks." -- Lord Acton
Gentlemen, I have had men watching you for a long time and I am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter, I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves. -- Andrew Jackson (attempted assassination)
You are a den of vipers and thieves. I intend to rout you out, and by the grace of the Eternal God, will rout you out. -- Andrew Jackson (attempted assassination)
"I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country; corporations have been enthroned, an era of corruption in High Places will follow, and the Money Power of the Country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the People, until the wealth is aggregated in a few hands, and the Republic is destroyed. I feel at this moment more anxiety for the safety of my country than ever before, even in the midst of war" -- Abraham Lincoln (assassinated)
"It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning. The one aim of these financiers is world control by the creation of inextinguishable debt." -- Henry Ford
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs. -- Ben Franklin
The bold effort the present (central) bank had made to control the government... are but premonitions of the fate that await the American people should they be deluded into a perpetuation of this institution or the establishment of another like it. -- Andrew Jackson (attempted assassination)
"This Act establishes the most gigantic trust on earth. When the President signs this Act, the invisible government by the Money Power, proven to exist by the Money Trust Investigation, will be legalized. The money power overawes the legislative and executive forces of the Nation and of the States. I have seen these forces exerted during the different stages of this bill."
-- Congressman Charles A. Lindbergh (grand kidnapped and murdered)
"Under the Federal Reserve Act, panics are scientifically created. The present panic is the first scientific one, worked out as we figure a mathematical equation."
-- Congressman Charles A. Lindbergh (grand kidnapped and murdered) "It is an old maxim and a very sound one, that he that dances should always pay the fiddler. Now, sir, in the present case, if any gentlemen, whose money is a burden to them, choose to lead off a dance, I am decidedly opposed to the people's money being used to pay the fiddler...all this to settle a question in which the people have no interest, and about which they care nothing. These capitalists generally act harmoniously, and in concert, to fleece the people, and now, that they have got into a quarrel with themselves, we are called upon to appropriate the people's money to settle the quarrel." -- Abraham Lincoln, January 11, 1837 (assassinated)
"It is not our own citizens only who are to receive the bounty of our government. More than eight millions of the stock of this bank are held by foreigners... is there no danger to our liberty and independence in a bank that in its nature has so little to bind it to our country?... Controlling our currency, receiving our public moneys, and holding thousands of our citizens in dependence... would be more formidable and dangerous than a military power of the enemy. If government would confine itself to equal protection, and, as Heaven does its rains, shower its favour alike on the high and the low, the rich and the poor, it would be an unqualified blessing. In the act before me there seems to be a wide and unnecessary departure from these just principles." -- Andrew Jackson (attempted assassination)
"The Bank is trying to kill me - but I will kill it!" (A man approached Jackson and stuck to guns in his gut and fired each weapon. They both misfired. The man was acquitted) -- Andrew Jackson (attempted assassination)
"If the American people only understood the rank injustice of our money and banking system - there would be a revolution before morning..." -- Andrew Jackson (attempted assassination)
When asked what he felt was the greatest achievement of his career Andrew Jackson replied without hesitation "I killed the bank!" -- Andrew Jackson (attempted assassination)
"Our top leaders are perfectly aware of the truth. They are presently working at establishing an imperialism of the capital to rule the world. But while they are implementing this plan, they must keep the people busy with political antagonisms.
"We'll therefore speed up the question of reform in the custom rates by the political organization called the Democratic Party; and we'll put the spotlight on the question of protection and of the reciprocity by the Republican Party."By dividing the electorate this way, we'll be able to have them spend their energies at struggling amongst themselves on questions that, for us, have no importance whatsoever, and on which we only touch upon as instructors of the common flock."It is thus that, through discreet acts, we can maintain what was so generously projected and executed with such a remarkable success."
The brave man inattentive to his duty, is worth little more to his country than the coward who deserts her in the hour of danger.-- Andrew Jackson (attempted assassination)"Whosoever controls the volume of money in any country is absolute master of all industry and commerce... And when you realise that the entire system is very easily controlled, one way or another, by a few powerful men at the top, you will not have to be told how periods of inflation and depression originate."-- James Garfield (assassinated)"We have, in this country, one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board. This evil institution has impoverished the people of the United States and has practically bankrupted our government. It has done this through the corrupt practices of the moneyed vultures who control it". -- Congressman Louis T. McFadden in 1932 (Rep. Pa) (assassinated)don't fight the fed - it has a dual meaning. |
