Eric, some of the comments in that article accuse Consumer Reports of having a pro-Toyota, anti-GM bias, LOL.

Meanwhile, the Volt gets about 31 MPG on the highway after you run the pre-charged battery out. That's not much better than other non-electric cars of similar size, though I bet the city MPG is also around 30.

The Volt might be the best of both worlds, electric and hybrid, but the current price tag is just ridiculous. Add the amount of utilities you have to pay to charge the battery every night (which is less than the cost of gas, but still rather significant), and CR is right. The economics just don't make sense.
