I find myself gravitating toward exactly those ideas that Goswami vilifies: locality, strong objectivity and especially epiphenomenalism. The last, simplified, holds that mind is a product of brain function. I believe this. Credo: "I am my meat."

At its core (I suspect) this is a discussion about the reality of soul. I find it most plausible that soul is an aberrant byproduct of our neurology. Where Goswami states that the material world is the illusion, to me soul is the equal and opposite illusion. Who of us is right? Imo there is no way to know. (It might even be two sides of a unitary coin, with only the vicissitudes of language generating the appearance of debate ...) But my instincts guide me away from Goswami.
