Roman historians DO mention Jesus and the few things they say are confirmed in the NT.

You know, Christianity is not the kind of religion one would make up in the Roman Empire. Its central figure is a Jew, a people who rebelled against the Romans a number of times. He himself was wrongly executed as a rebel. Who would make up a religion like that? And what are the chances the religion would ultimately convert most of the Roman population within 300 years?
