James,

Vin Dham's resignation:

When a top brass resigns or is fired, it usually means something really bad has happened or is about to happen --- not because of his capability, or perhaps what is left of it. Therefore, Vin's resignation implies that something is not good for AMD.

John.

James,

People are concerned becuase Vin was widely belived to be the "heart and soul" of AMD. That's why everyone is worried. If the body doesn't have a heart it dies. Vin may have been the only one who has faith left in the K6. (at the very least he would have had one of the strongest faiths). If Vin got fired that was STUPID. If he quit it's not a good sign. It's not that Vin left that is the real issue here. It's the insinuation (sp?). If Vin has lost faith, "good lord!"

Steve

James , re. Vinod Dham's position
according to AMD's "Advances magazine" summer issue the guy in charge
of the design for K6 is Greg Favour , not Vinod Dham .
Also according to the PR Dham cannot work for another company due to terms of agreement .
BTW just to clarify that slanderous statement by Stockwhatever
I have never worked for AMD .
regards , Brian
