I'm old enough to remember Walt Disney putting on a show called "Our Friend The Atom." He launched it in person with a display of mouse traps. With one mouse trap, a pingpong ball had no effect when tossed into the setup. Then Disney had a setup with hundreds of mouse traps all set. He tossed a pingpong ball in it and within seconds all of them had sprung. That was a chain reaction, he said. I expect there will be chain reactions of many sorts in Japan over the next few years, nuclear being but one of them. I feel sad for those people, and grateful that I'm not one of them.
