Dear Al and Arnie and anyone who can offer solace or whatever: I am heartbroken that I bought Dell at 98+, on margin, (too much hype from someone on the Dell thread who loves it) and then sold it yesterday in fear (too much "bear" from someone on the Dell thread who shorts it). I lost $5000 on a stock I intended to keep long term (I still have a couple of hundred shares but I didnt "mean" to do what I just did.) Of course if Dell went down further I suppose I would have been glad because of the danger of a margin call. But that isnt my point. I am still doing "traditis". I thought I was over it. Maybe I need a 12 step program. I have just lost hard earned (in the stock market during the summer) money doing something on impulse. So now I know what "greed" and "fear" cause. But I'm not sure how to get back on track and become an intelligent investor. (Please dont anyone say "you have to be an intelligent person first!") Anyone have anything I can do to help myself???
