The first stock under $5 that I ever bought (about 6 years ago) was an Amex issue. It was 50&#162 a share, so I bot tons!! <G> And then, it went bankrupt, and I thought I was so stupid. I forgot about it until one day I got a letter saying that my bankrupt company got bought. I was given cash equal to my original investment PLUS a lot of shares in the new company. You can imagine my delight!! This new company soon moved to the Naz, and now it's $19 1/2 a share! No kidding. Funny how sh-t happens, huh?! Anyway, that outcome gave me encouragement to buy other small companies, but not too many at a time.
