Hi Wiz,

Today there is a moderate recovery, but I don't think I will be fooled! I am not buying anything other than zero coupons and USD
non-calable bonds with max. 2003 as expiration date. I got a feeling
that US armed forces will again try to bomb Saddam into submission
(off course they will fail and they have to do it again every couple
of years for the rest of our natural lives!!!) That will send the
stocks back where we were last yesterday. It is real frusterating,
if it is not Hong Kong, then it is Chinese flue, or Mr. Greenspan
comments, or ....you pick your choice. I wonder, if the market foundmentals have changes, the momentum is lost at least for this year, and we are too blind not to see the writting on the wall!!
I am not pesimistic becasue lost momontum and changes of market
foundementals means nothing for us who have invested for a long term,
but it is good to know. What do you think.

Kind regards,

Yaacov

Hi Wiz. welcome to the thread. I have been reading most of the posts late last night and early this morning. I enjoyed your posts. I am out of here in a minute but will give you a link to my post to Frank. I am willing to have you enlighten me more about this fast-track thing. gg.
I am not a big fan of it. I don't think it will give us a fair shake but we don't get it even without it. But what do we have to lose but more industries going down the tube? I heard all your arguments for it but think only tech, telecomm. etc. will do us any good. And in this Global slowdown it might not be the best time. Well, even our short-sighted gg people in GVT. are of the same opinion. I hate to be a bit on the same side with people trying to hinder industries but there are a lot of things involved here. We can't quite compete with a lot of those low wages out there and a lot of dumping would occur IMO. Heck, we can't even get thru with our friend Japan. Kodak and Cars come to mind. Short-sighted or not, I have seen NO advantage. When we complain, it gets stuck in this new World Organization where we don't have much luck. I hear the talk that we are going to be left behind. Wow. I do believe tougher negotiations should be in order. Fast-track is dandy but if we have a lot less exports than imports is it to our advantage? I have not seen increases in our trades. Yes, yes, short-sighted but I would like to see the benefit before I leave this world. Our stronger economy and safer environment could do it if we don't give everything away.
