I think your overly pessimistic in regards to the oil supply. But assuming you are right would change nothing about my point. The faster the world is running out the more valuable the oil left in the US is. The lower the supply in the rest of the world, the more we should drill what we have, perhaps not now (if the oil price doesn't reflect the discounted future scarcity, OTOH I think the oil market has a better idea about the future of oil than you do), but certainly eventually.
