Del- Am enjoying the jousting between you and Freddy-particularly because it appears the two of you are. It's a nice diversion from the agonies of the market this week. Thanks!

Luther was a German hero, so it's not surprising Hitler attempted to coopt him. And while Luther did write a polemic against the Jews in his old age, he wrote much the opposite in his youth. Glad to see you, Christine and Hakeem all found it useful not to mention the contradiction in Luther's works. Maybe that got "sanitized" at Infidel.org. It's amazing how I never realized that all bias exists on the side of Christians. The fans of "the secular web", the "Freedom From Religion Foundation", and "infidel.org" are into Truth, Honesty, and All Things Good.

All the same, Luther was a theologian, and you have offered no evidence that Hitler and the Nazis "followed" Luther in any way other than to approve of his one book. Where are the Nazi writings claiming Christianity? You have found none. You have offered none. Instead you serve up guilt-by-association. Luther wrote a tirade against the Jews, and Hitler murdered Jews 400 years later. Yep, I guess that makes Hitler a Christian, and Lutheran one at that. Luther is responsible for Hitler. Or so you tell us. Religious fanatics are an interesting bunch. Many are driven by a blind commitment to it, but some are driven by a fanatical hatred against it. Neither are open to evidence, or motivated by logic, in my experience.
