Hi Leo,

CenturaPro must also firmly believe that Tomahawk has indeed veered off course or they would not be doing this, wouldn't you say ?

I don't think Mark Hunter et al at Centura Pro feel that Tomahawk has veered. In fact, later in the issue they show how a couple of line of code to create a window with a push button takes gobs of code in Java.

I believe it's more of a case of "Can we continue to make money doing SQLWindows/CTD/SQLBase?"

I have yet to meet a programmer that has significant problems with the product. The technology is outstanding. It allows you to do things that VB and PB programmers can only dream of. And yet it doesn't take the additional person months of time that creating the same application in C or C++ would take.

The problem is how do you convince people to use a product they've never heard of? Many places still call the company Gupta. If you educate people about the product and the company, any IT manager that is at all competent would have to question whether the company is going to be around to support them. This question will be followed by "where am I going to find people to code in this stuff?"

The things that will make customers comfortable with buying into Centura are the same things that will make investors buy into Centura. A nice stable company making some health profits.
