Put the USA above Canada, and perhaps above Saudi, the status of USA reserves is unknown to even the experts, everyone in positions to input into that accounting is in the camp of " we think oil comes from fossillness" Might as well throw all the information you ever knew about oil away, and start over. Oil never came from fossils and never will. Hence without proper characterization of how Oil is formed, you've got blind leading the blind in a world wide epidemic of fossillness.. Key oil companies are expressing the proper awareness about oil in the things they are doing. Activity abounds. There is no way the USA wont be self sufficient in oil within 5 years barring government interference. Can we count on government to get out of the way? No, too much collusion between old awareness and governments habit for creating inertia against new awareness..... Fortunately, wild cards favor new awareness. What is the likelihood that Chicxulub was part of a string of impactors that might also have laid in the oil off Brazil? Study the Shoemaker levy impactor data, landing patterns and such, and see for yourself that the probability is high, that is exactly what laid Brazils oil in. Be it part of a Chicxulub string or not..the Chesapeake Bay impactor could offer another trajectory for a string that made Brazils oil. Like i said, new awareness new understanding...or continue to kid yourself....( this has a high probability for those locked in compartments, no matter, utility happens to compartmentalists, much to thier surprise)
