Edward,

The World Almanac sounds like it bases its data upon the CIA World Factbook which is often off on religious/cultural data like this (but is dead on on economic and geopolitical data- go to CIA Homepage and bring up "The World Factbook"). It's about 60/40% currently- the best anecdotal evidence of that guess is the large base that the SPLA enjoys for recruiting soldiers.....

Arakis recently followed the Chinese's lead of about a year ago and adopted a more neutral stance toward the whole civil war. That was very wise, as the outcome is in doubt. As to the Malaysian co-owners IMO they generally already enjoy generally good relations with the SPLA... So if Arakis can mend their bridges with the SPLA, then from an investor's perspective it won't matter who wins the war, but just that the fighting ceases....

Sincerely,

Doug F.
