Obama and Bernanke are heroes for averting Great Depression 2. My guess is if somehow if we still have had Bush, the tea party congress and Greenspan in charge in 2009-10 we'd be in a far different place now. More like DOW 3k, a run on the banks and unemployment officially well over 20%.

Hoover and that new fed chairman Harrison after Benjamin Strong died in 1928 sealed our fate by 1931... en.wikipedia.org

You mean your house has appreciated the last few years, and the RE taxes have gone UP on it? Everyone I know has appealed their evaluations and gotten hefty RE tax cuts..
