Most would consider those observations as fringe or bordering on tin foil hat territory but they aren't.

The big thing right now is that this full moon will be the largest in the past 18 years, which means the most significant tidal forces (which bend the land in addition to the ocean bulge/tides) in the past 18 years. That alone actually, and simply, makes it a dangerous time for quakes, and we've already had two large ones on the planet. Tidal forces follow an inverse square law, so the maximum force can be 25% higher than the minimum and 12.5% higher than the typical force.
