Are 'bots sending letters to the editor? Are they e-mailing politicians? Bet on it. > With $trillions in loot from taxation riding on it, there is great incentive to generate 'bot'ulism. It's notable that the bots are not amenable to reason and countervailing facts, which is a good Turing Test of their cognitive foundations. The amount of money spent and collected in taxation and other imposts is now over half the total. So there is vast imperative to keep the game going. In democracies, the bots only have to fool half of the people half of the time. The half they have to fool have IQs in the <100 range so it's a doddle. They can fool a lot in the >100 range too if those people have a strong urge to believe. Personally, I'll find it quite a benefit to not have to do my own thinking, leaving it to the bots to argue the case. When Google can do it for me, telling me to turn left or right, stand up, sit down, ask for a discount of 15%, eat that, don't eat that, bed time, vote for "X" ... life will be very easy. I'll be able to spend my effort doing things more suited to my talents such as swimming in surf, eating [approved] mangoes, schnapper, bananas [low radiation], nectarines, figs, baguettes, olive oil, camembert, going for a bike ride in the park, playing with grandchildren at Parnell Pools, visiting the one in London [born yesterday] after having an A380 ride, while cerfing in Cyberspace.
