It's that BIG east coast bias I guess.

Florida State beat Duke this year.
Lost by 2 to NC last time they played.

Lost to va tech in the ACC T.. go figure.
Maryland trounced them early.

Singleton fractured his foot Feb 12. Just coming back up to speed...

Either Florida State or VCU will be in the great 8. Cool.

I think FSU's seeding was partially a product of a soft non-conference schedule, plus the fact that they really only had one big win, at home vs. Duke. Apart from that they were just a very solid team in a conference perceived as being in a down year.

But I agree with a lot of the sentiment here that there seems to be something wrong with a system where one conference can get such an uber label that they can get ridiculous numbers of teams in the tournament just by beating each other up.

Then again, when the last two surviving teams from that conference went 9-9 in conference play, that kind of muddles the whole point...

How is FSU a 10 seed?

Their best player Singleton got injured and missed some time, so they didn't have a great record. He's back now.
