l4p, an old saw is dump your losers and let the winners run.

one rule of thumb i use is to hold for the split, and if the stock is getting pricey, sell the stock dividend. no guarantees, but when the split is 2 for 1 there is an opportunity to diversify.

don't become a trader. the brokers will love you. they never lose! but you can if you regularly sell the future short. shorting is not a winning game - actual or virtual.
