More info... All the suicides I've known have been male starting with a hanging in the 8th grade of a boy in my school. Turns out his father also committed suicide. Statistically, family and friends of suicides are more apt to do the same. The Hemingway family is an example of this. On the other end of the spectrum was a devout Christian in his mid sixties who was also a vice-president of a major company a week after his wife died from breast cancer. Except for the hanging, all of them were with firearms. That's not to say I support a prohibition on guns, but men are more successful than women who try pills. I've seen more than my share of this and the results and I would never do such a thing to my family under any circumstances. * * *
