Barbara, You're right of course about the pricey puts on the OEX. YOU wouldn't sell anybody puts without getting paid pretty well, would you? The nice thing about the spread as opposed to the naked long put, is that you are selling the short side at a pricey premium too, although not so much as your long side, which is closer to the money. There are some other considerations also, but I don't want to take up any more space on this thread which I don't think is directed toward options. You may e-mail me if you wish.
