I doubt the Fed cares about the state of public pension funds. These funds hold a lot of diminishing value Treasuries/Bonds so any stock market pump up won't bring any value to those, especially with rates so low.

Not to mention, I am sure each state pension plans hold bonds of other states, etc so the 'circle of doom' will continue spinning downward.

The only thing the Fed will do for certain is ensure the elite banks continue to make out like bandits. The taxpayers and pension plans will be the bag holders.
