If it's true that stocks lose their ground at the close on Friday, then maybe a reasonable (and profitable) tactic would be to sell your shares now while they're up a buck or so, then buy back near the close when they're down a buck or so.

You could thus lower your average cost per share.

Of course, that makes you one of those nasty day traders.

IMHO stocks will close down today due to the threat of the Iraqis shooting down the U-2 this weekend.
