That is correct - I lived in Philly for 6 years, and have visited the room where the Constitution was drafted,and visited the 'cracked bell'.

Regardless, the 1st President of the USA was George Washington. You can dispute it with State Dept if you wish. They decide on Naturalization.

PS: Schuykill Freeway is called Route 76 for a reason.

He [Hanson] signed the Articles of Confederation in 1781 after Maryland finally joined the other states in ratifying them. In November 1781, he was the first person to be elected as the presiding officer.

Washington was the first Constitutional President. The Presidency under the Articles of Confederation was a different office and no longer exists.
