Walt, We have not had any REAL turmoil in the markets. What happens when you can't trust banks or stocks or shares or currency ? You need an asset that has no corresponding liability and is universally accepted as a store of wealth. Unfortunately it may take some MAJOR upheaval before this comes about possibly a world wide depression or war.

Sorry to sound so glum on what could be our big day.

TTMA

Bob.

<< Claude, every day brings new evidence that the era of gold as a store of value is passing. ... but the long run is still pobabably down. >>

Walt, of course I disagree. Don't be fooled by the current irrational exuberance in the financial markets. They won't last. Microsoft at $130 is an aberration. It is only a matter of time before those with the $$ turn some of their profits to gold. Keep in mind that the gold markets are currently manipulated to make the financial markets look better. Again, thios won't last.

<< IPM is a great mining company of precious metals >>

So far they don't have any gold reserves. So we will have to wait and see on this.

<<..and will make plenty of money as a low cost producer in spite of the price of gold, not because of it. >>

That remains to be seen. Maybe 5 years down the road..at the earliest. Many things can happen during that period. In the mean time, I am slowly picking up other mining companies at bargain prices.

Walt,
<<every day brings new evidence that the era of gold as a store of value is passing.>>
Ever since the first piece of paper money is invented, the
one with the printing press always want us to believe that
their pieces of paper are better than gold. But in reality,
every piece of paper money througout the human history eventually became a useless piece of paper while gold retains its value
throughout history.

Oh, well, then they will claim it is different this time -- again.
