And yes lead is also toxic, so is cyanide. What's your point? That there are harmful things out there? Sure I agree with that, even if some threat are exaggerated there are some seriously nasty things in the world, and some toxic substances are pretty common.

That its generally getting worse? No I have to disagree. The environment is in many ways healthier than it has been in the past. Its hardly (and never was and will never be) perfect, its not even better in every single way, for every type of hazard, but its generally better, and likely will continue to improve.
