An insightful observation, and nicely put.

So they just don't discuss anything. Nor do most of them read much of anything. Most of them are so sure they are correct in their POV that they just shrug it off, and go on about their merry way, believing what they want to believe and not challenging their own emotional belief system.

Some of the most ignorant people I've ever met were ardent leftists completely secure in knowledge that they're smarter than anyone else, right up to the point of debate.

When they can no longer feel good in their smarminess, they run away.....

I'm trying to think if I've ever seen a progressive with a book that wasn't either fiction or propaganda....nope, can't say I have.

If people don't have anything besides emotions and a spurious self-image behind their POV's, discussing their POV with folks not sharing it can be painful for them.

Today, I've found that most of the Left won't discuss politics, because they are mostly emotion driven, don't have a variety of sources to point to, and know they will lose their POV to perhaps a stronger and more balanced argument.
