That story was from Sunday night. Right at the same time the administration was saying there was no way there would be boots on the ground. Hopefully, they still will not make it to Libyan soil...

There is always a BLT or Battalion Landing Team in the Med and they always perform in joint exercises with NATO forces.
Although Obama has stated there will be no boots on the ground, they have to be prepared to change hats from a support role to a combat role.

However, all that being said we have a serious problem with mission changes already. Obama has no backbone and is easily influenced by the slightest wind changes. The Middle East is not a place to show anything less than Strength and Power. Obama is so indecisive any enemy knows they need only a small bag or tricks to sucker him. Seems Gaddafi and friends are playing "Spin the Chief" with Obama and he is displaying dizziness.

One Muslim state after another is going to fall into (if not already) civil war. I say "muslim state" because most people don't realize the difference between Persians, Arabs etc.

Not being on the ground in Lybia I have no idea how firm the opposition or if they are organized politically. If it becomes necessary in Obama's eyes to put troops on the ground
we have only to wait for the surrounding countries to declare
war against the west and put down their own "protestors" without concern for the "press".

It is a ticket for disaster. I see this just as I saw Bush's prolonged wait to enter Iraq. It gave Saddam the time to clean up "messes" and prepare for insurrection if invaded.

These "WARS" are far to complex. The Middle East is nothing more than a variety is Muslim, tribal and ethnic sects grappling for power. There is no gain in assisting themselves in their own demise at great loss of treasure and lives. Surely the Great Satan will be blamed for all losses from genocide to loss of property and historic sites.

I say hands off and let the chips fall where they may. Europe needs their brent crude. Let them do what they want there and we need to just step aside because we missed the easy window for Gaddafi's removal. He could leave tomorrow now, but the wealth of the country has been divided by the power structure and will be used to finance all forms of disruption, murder and terror. We cannot play policeman there.
