It's always sad to think of a great ship being scrapped. Only a few are preserved forever, like the USS Constitution and the USS Missouri.

I seem to have a memory that the Bon Homme Richard saw service as a Carrier specializing in US Marine Corps operations. Probably wrong about that. Wiki says nothing about it.

I stopped at the most unusual book store I've ever seen, over in Alberton, Montana. It's run by a woman in an old historic store front. It's jam packed with books. When you go in the door it's like going into a cave. Books floor to ceiling, and the ceiling is at least 12 feet high. Barely enough room for your body between the rows of shelves. The sign on the highway claims it has over 100,000 books, which I do not doubt.

The woman had a very interesting story to tell about her father, who flew in a B-17 like my Father-in-law, and also spent two years in Stalag Luft I. My FIL was in Stalag Luft III.

More on the story later. It's late now. I've had a long day.
