Hello c2, was 'back' Friday early am in HK from s.africa, slept half a day, took jack in harness and walked through park and around markets, dined with rest of family, then chilled by watching "king's speech".

Saturday was spent doing administrative catchup, easy lunch of bagel n salmon n cream cheese, followed by nap n walk then easy dinner with mom n in-laws n jack. Erita n mom went to playgroup.

Today I am in Manila, to check on the little hotel that 8 of us boyz acquired. The exterior and public space renovation is done. The ambiance is very good, sports bar lively, restaurant hearty, staff friendly, pool n lounge area homey, and very nice indeed. The place is being marketed as a favorite hangout for locals during work days, and reliable lodging for visitors. We have very good kitchen crew, n the food is fab. The rooms renovation shall be funded out of cash-flow n a capital call ;0/ no one likes capital calls.

Good news? The 47-rooms place can be a refuge should the rest of the world collapse into a heap. We got a 30-years lease at usd 8k equivalent of pesos per month pegged to the local CPI.

On silver, something must be up. Usd 50 w/I this year is not out of the realm of the possible.

I am however very cognizant of the fairly probable hiccup we should experience in perhaps just about all assets between now and 6 months from now, the twilight zone separating qe3 from qe2 that may have been bridged by japan-QE100 (a/k/a qe2.5).

Cheers, tj
