Spoke with investor relations today. I will try to convey the gist of some of the points discussed. I am working from my, at times, not too great memory......

Generally, nothing to say about share price decline, except that the company is not happy about it and beleives that the price action is primarily driven by investor psychology.

a. Does the company expect problems similar to those recently announced by COMS (inventory) BAY (slow 4q revenue)?

No,these problems do not apply, and the company sees no similar problem.

b. Any comment on analysts estimates for 4q and for FY98, are you comfortable with estimates?

The company has not missed in the past and does not see any problems at this time going forward. No reason to think otherwise.

c. If Europe's economy is slowed due to current worldwide financial conditions, how will that affect the company?

The company is small enough that it believes macroeconomic conditions will not affect its growth in Europe. Very positive about growth in Europe going forward.

d. Noam's statements in the 3rd quarter cc indicated very favorable results from the DC switch test, was he referring to the DC test in the cc, and, if so, why the apparent contradictory results?

No contradiction. The company believes that packet loss is the most important test and that the switch performed best in this category. Feels DC's criteria did not give proper weight to the most important factor in real world performance, and in this regard the test is not fair. Feels DC may not have been evenhanded. Will have the switch evaluated by an independent lab.

e. Any impact if, and when, Cabletron buys DEC's networking division?

For certain, no negative impact. Relationship with DEC is good. CS will recognize MRVC's value to DEC. CS is a networking company, that is a positive. MRVC is providing the right products at the right price.

f. Is increasing tension in the Middle East any threat to the operations in Israel?

Tension has existed for a very long time, sees no impact. There has been no impact in the past, and believes there will be no impact going forward.

g. Any comment on possible share buyback plan? (I asked this because it was asked by an analyst on the cc, and perhaps some would like to know this)

No, company has no plans for share buyback at this time.

Sorry for the length of this post, but it is the weekend. This company is very confident going forward. In my view, there are plenty of reasons to buy this company, or hold it.

p.s. the comments above are, of course, made by me and are solely my interpretation of the information discussed. a twenty minute conversation is distilled above, and thanks to the person with whom i spoke. as everyone knows, i am not giving or intending to give financial advice. Make you own decisions.
