ElM, the US$, like the USSR, is so inefficient and defective in many ways that it is a failure in progress [note 1]. <USD will be gone as major reserve currency. "with unpredictable results." > Like the Model A car, it was good for its time and performed valuable functions. But it is now obsolete. I have been working on the replacement and my prototype is coming along nicely. It does not involve gold, Aztecs, camp fires, incantations, moon-baying or human sacrifice. Gold Bugs will have to get jobs more suited to their talents. They will join those who pursued the Biotelecosmictechdot.com mania, the housing get rich quick ATM wealth process and the Big Government is Good Government legions.

Note 1: US$ was a huge success for its purpose which was to make the owners of it and dealers in it very rich at the expense of those who held it and used it. But success is measured in total value created, not how well wealth is transferred from one group to another.
