very sad. I owned a house briefly in rochester in 1986 and commuted up there from new york city on weekends. It was a depressing place for me even back then. I have a memory of eating dinner with my wife in some restaurant. we were the only people there besides the owner, who felt it necessary to rush over to the table to ask me to remove my cap while dining there.
