Do you think it would be possible to have a bad market and long term growing economy? Is not a good market simply an indicator of the underlying economy?

That said - short of QEII - what could the Fed due to kick start the economy - remember they have a semi impossible dual mandate.

There is a lot of talk about high oil prices being a result of QEII. Perhaps some - but I think our high oil prices are far more related to turmoil in the ME.

I can personally vouch that our family spending has increased as the market soared following QEII.

QEII IMO provides a short term opportunity to get things going. Ultimately it will be necessary for good domestic economic policy to carry the ball. I am not optimistic.
