Wow, Intel must think everyone is as rich as (no so) humble Carl. <G>

Joey and Thread:

"By the second half of 1998, the Pentium 200 and 233 MHz with MMX technology are not on the road map as well as the Pentium Pro 200 with 512 KB of cache."

The Intel roadmap is confusing to consumers and paralyzes some. I say this because I receive calls from friends trying to understand how they can possibly evaluate the processors on the market, the processors in development and the announced migrations. As an investor and a consumer I want all this information. Not everyone feels this way.

While some are willing to spend more to purchase a system they feel will meet their needs for a few years, they don't want to break the bank to buy something that won't run the new applications a year from now. I try to share the information I can gather but they usually don't like all the info when they get it...too confusing.

Can anyone share ideas about how to buy a new system that I could use when counseling these frustrated souls? Other than "Look in bank. Determine how much you have. Withdraw full amount. Spend same on whatever Intel processor you can afford. Repeat as needed throughout your life. (Just kidding...I think)

This looks strange. I thought these two are perfect for
mobile because of the low power consumption.

Any comment on that ?
