I would think we would be the ones willing to sell them ammo. But we have to violate our own embargo and that would be foolish.

I think it would fuel the war needlessly and the weapons could fall into Gaddafi's hands. Plus, I don't like what happened today. The opposition was attacked by Libyan citizens who support Gaddafi, not the army, and the opposition turned tail like scared rabbits. In addition, where is the army that defected? Why are they not supporting the opposition? And what is wrong with the citizens of Tripoli...are they this weak kneed that they cower in their homes, or are they Gaddifi collaborators? This is becoming more and more a civil war, not a revolution.

Anyway there is now a denial that a decision was ever made.

Clinton said it was possible in her speech. However, she didn't specify which nations. Actually, this is what she said:

"U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Tuesday that world powers have made no decision to arm Libyan rebels, but that the U.N. resolution authorizing the allied air campaign against Libyan government forces does not preclude that."
