INVEST IN BEST: As of 11/21/97 the following Sectors are listed along with there YTD performance. Index funds has had a good year as many investors would be hard press to beat them this year.

The BEST Groups:

FINANCE..... YTD (38.62%)
S&P 500..... YTD (30.02%)
TELE COM.... YTD (27.76%)
VALUE....... YTD (26.10%)
OTC......... YTD (25.54%)

The GOOD Groups:

GROWTH..... YTD (24.97%)
HEALTH..... YTD (22.67%)
AGGRESS.... YTD (22.56%)
UTILITIES.. YTD (19.22%)
HITECH..... YTD (18.82%)
EUROPE......YTD (18.18%)

All other groups below 18%. It is very surprising that UTILITIES is ahead of HITECH. Who would have predicited that at the beginning of the year? However a year end rally may push HITECH into the best group. Hopefully you have had money in these sectors, because you would have shown the best gains. We have talked about these all year and have recommended some nice funds that one could have owned in the INVEST IN BEST portfolio. As you know, we have not recommended any INTERNATIONAL funds with the exception of EUROPE in the first part of the year. INTERNATIONALS have struggled all year. With GOLD, the EMERGING, NEW-ASIA, and JAPAN funds have returned in negative results.

The funds the INVEST IN BEST like now is (FSRPX) Fidelity Select Retail...up 4% in two weeks. Also FIUIX, FBDGX, FDLSX, and FSHCX, are honorable mention. I would continue to HOLD Health and Regional Banking funds.

Have a good week
Jim
