The Fed under the guidance of Bernanke is solely responsible for us avoiding a financial meltdown 2 years ago. WOW, I am shocked. Are you talking about the financial meltdown that Ben and cronies engineered? Take a couple of hours and watch The WARNING pbs.org Do I like the debt level in this country..NO.But all Americans must sacrifice things in their lives if we are to get a handle on the debt. No body does. Yet our elected officials keep adding to it. The only things that they willing to cut are what effect Americans wellbeing. Yet none of them is willing to reduce our military spending, which accounts for a large amount of the spending. The problem is "not in my backyard" mentality of most Americans.Subsidies to farmers,oil companies,etc. should also be on the chopping block. I agree with you. I would also add the need to cut to foreign aid and abandon the useless war that we are in. Thus, Ron Paul should fit the bill.
