i used to go sailing with a friend. he had diet sodas in his boat with cyclamates. they had stopped using cyclamates years before.

it is ok for government to demand people eat healthy, not smoke, not drink, wear seat belts, get some exercise, not drive drunk, not gamble.

but, first, we should require people to obey, enforce laws re immigration, drugs, gambling. people should not get benefits if they need help because they disobeyed the law. they should have to pay for themselves.

we support crack and heroin addicts, illegal immigrants, people who didn't learn basics although they were provided with free school, people who didn't earn although we have high wages for all kinds of jobs (well, at least, we used to), people who didn't save. if some one wants some thing. they should pay for it. otherwise, government should provide a minimum. those who get for free shouldn't have what those who pay for it do.

its **** amazing. surprise surprise first they dont last anything close to 5 years. then of coures my teenage son in the past 5 years has managed to break 4 of those bulbs. everytime one breaks its like a minor hazmat operation. who knows that the long term effects will be of breaking one around an infant or young child.
