A good time to write out of $ calls??

I don't like to write calls on stocks I think are significantly undervalued. COMS could regain much lost ground quickly (then again, it might not.) For my taste the premium doesn't reward the risk of missing some of the gains. When it's back in the 40's I'll check again. I think it will be back there before the end of the year.

I like to write covered calls on stocks that are:

1)Around what I think is fair value.
2)Something I'd like to hold for a while.

This sort of options strategy has worked best for me, albeit over only a one year time frame.
