There's a new competitor for RAIN. It is called Maui Beach Cafe and it opened its second lcoation in Westwood this past week. The food is incredible, although the theme is not as good as RAIN. The best way to describe it though is RAIN meets CAKE. I have started a thread for it and have posted more information there. I think it can compete pretty well with RAIN, although it would seem to be geared towards an older crowd than RAIN. Anyways, I think it is a good idea for us to look at all of the competing restaurants to get a good understnading of problems this industry might face in the years ahead. The most obvious question I ask is how many of these restaurants can the world support before oversaturation occurs? I was very impressed with Maui Beach Cafe, as I am with CAKE and RAIN. Oh, and I am still holding my RAIN and CAKE shares.
