Wow! This is HUGE! And it proves my point that Apple not having a 4G iPhone till late 2012 is going to hurt them big time. IMO, if the iPhone 5 is NOT a 4G phone, expect Apple stock to get slaughtered over the next year as they start missing iPhone sales estimates as customers either delay purchasing an iPhone till Apple gets its act together with a 4G version, or move to a 4G Android phone.

BTIG Research analyst Walter Piecyk this afternoon writes that his calls to 150 Verizon Communications (VZ) stores in 22 cities in the U.S. this week reveal that the HTC “Thunderbolt” phone, based on Google‘s (GOOG) “Android” software, is at least keeping pace with sales of Apple‘s (AAPL) iPhone.

Wonder what % of ViP's are sold through Verizon stores vs. Apple stores.
